Season 2 - Theme 6 - Virtual Love

From @shivom_oza:

He held her close, and whispered sweet nothings in her ears. She was his only friend and guardian angel. He did most of the talking, while she listened. He had barely known her, but it seemed as if she had been around for ages.

It was a wonderful love story, until her trial version expired.

From @RootKanal:

Green light flickers next to her name, his eyes flicker and come to life.
“Heyyy,” he types. Backspace. “’Ssup?” Back, back, back.
She saw my last message. Wonder why she didn't reply. I’d take even a, “K.”
Quick, what’s the most nonchalant topic that can help spark a conversation? The weather maybe? Or maybe tomorrow

From @WickdWeirdWitch:

Handsome DP, changed often. Swanky pics. Funny tweets. She was in love with him on Twitter. She followed, RT’ed & fav’d him & would search for his handle at night & read & re-read his tweets till dozing off.

And then one day he inadvertently tweeted about trouble in draping ‘her’ saree.

Mental pandemonium followed.

From @gauravjagwani:

They were in a long distance relationship. Yet, they would eat all their meals at the same time. He made sure of it. He would tell people that he is the more committed one. Yes, there were complications when she found out that he was her only stalker. But, he was in love. Well, virtually.

From @darklingdiva:

With the number of books she read, it was impossible to keep account of all the fictional characters she fell in love with.

But love in reality? That too with someone you've never met? Looked like the plot of some story she might've read. Only it was her story. And this was just the beginning.

From @sourcasm:

After years of continuous struggle, he had finally managed to migrate to the city by the sea. Ramesh wanted a better future for his children, the one he only dreamed about during his childhood.

Overlooking the Indian Ocean, they were writing '25 December 2004' on the balcony of their new house, their day of a new beginning.

From @ashishshukul:

You took hold of my heart when it soared with desire. I let go of my inhibitions as you held me together. Thus began a remarkable journey. Boundless joy shaped our cherished memories as one.

You know, I do. I know, you don’t. Let’s pretend to be strangers again. Let’s liberate this love from reality.

From @thenesseffect:

She hurried home from work. So much to do: pick B up, cook, clean, do the laundry…

He looked at his watch, time to go home. There wasn’t much to do there, except help B with homework…

They’d drifted away from each other in spirit, soul and body, but feigned virtual love only for B.

From @roshd:

He DMed :
“I’m so excited about her. We DM everyday. Skype every week. We share the same interests. She’s my soul mate even though she’s in Madurai & I’m in the US and I’ve only ‘met’ her on Twitter.”
”Will you be devastated if this doesn’t work out?” I asked him.
Apparently he is.
From @lucidillusions:
I don't remember why she fell in love with me. I fell in love with her because of her artwork. Over the years, we drifted apart but still found, or rather craved for, each other. We thought we were like asymptotes but in the end we were like tangents, never meant to meet ever again.

From @tweettabulous:

You can fight, be mean, snap, get snarky, throw temper tantrums, poke, get grumpy, rant, send angry emoticons or drive crazy with your insane behaviour.

BUT...

There's no drama that can falter her affection, its divinely pure, unconditionally selfless and truly whole, no matter how many ways divided... absolutely nothing virtual about a mother's love.

From @VishalShriyan:

A twitch here means a convulsion there.
A scratch here means a gash there.
If blood spills here, it flows there.
These two countries. It isn't hate. It is virtually love.

From @mmrunal:

Joe: I love you forever!
Jolly: hmmm…
Joe: Expected a better reply!
Jolly: Why should I waste my words when you know what I feel?
*She was a master in wordplay.*
Aspirations turned big. She was bored of red and wanted to try her hand on maroon this time.
Joe: I love you!
Jolly: I love you too. But, I like him more; he looks too cute in his dp. I can’t resist myself staring at him.

From @writingchalk:

They were worlds apart, yet their love was electric.
She was young and spirited. He was old, but still had a romantic spark.
Just glancing at each other would turn them on.
Then the unthinkable happened… “Take the PC away. He’s too old for our systems.”
The Mac’s hard-disk crashed on the very same day.

From @Oxymoronic_Me:

It was love at first sight for him. Her perfect lips. Her alluring curves. Her shapely breasts. All enticing him.
He made up his mind to find out everything about her.

The only thing he would never find out would be the innumerable times a knife had made her perfect. A virtual image of herself.

From @_souringpie:

“See, I am remaking “HER” in Bhojpuri with a twist. A milkman finds an iPhone in his barn. He types a random password ‘Bhauji’ and it gets unlocked. A female Siri starts to talk in Bhojpuri. Gradually he becomes friendly, falls in love with Siri and sings “Virtual wala love”. Then...” “Sir, audience is unconscious!!

From @aseemrastogi2:

They had acknowledged each other’s presence while going through the usual outrage on Twitter. She had more than 3000 followers while he barely touched 300. His wacky bio and interesting tweets captivated her attention. He was in heaven seeing her sexy snaps on Instagram. DMs became commonplace at any time of the day or night.

From @elwingt:

His pulse quickened. The screen glowed. The hourglass kept going round. He was frustrated, but exhilarated. He was late, but he had the happy fact of a ticket he needed to reveal to her.

She waited impatiently, scared and teary. She had to tell him about last night's kiss with her TA. About leaving him.
